Pregnancy Care Services

The goal of the Maternal/Child Health staff is to provide comprehensive maternity services to high and low risk clients.

Nursing services include information regarding prenatal and postpartum care, smoking cessation, nutrition, baby care, breastfeeding, childbirth, sibling adjustment, childbirth preparation. and preventing premature births . Services are provided through clinic and home visitations. Referrals are made to the HANDS Program and to WIC.

Prenatal clinical services and delivery are provided through the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Pregnancy tests are offered by appointment at the Health Department's Public Health Clinics.  Call 288-2483 to make an appointment.
