HIV/AIDS
Fayette County was the first county in Kentucky to offer HIV antibody testing and anonymous testing for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection. HIV testing is free to the client. No appointment is needed.
Free, confidential walk-in HIV testing is offered at the Health Department at 805B Newtown Circle (Last door at far end of building) from 8 am - 4 pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and 8 am - 6 pm on Tuesdays.
Individuals seeking testing for other sexually transmitted diseases as well as HIV should go to the Public Health Clinics at 805A Newtown Circle or 2433 Regency Road.

HIV/AIDS Program services include:
- Anonymous HIV antibody testing
- Referrals for HIV infected individuals (physicians, social services, support services, support groups, counseling, etc.)
- Safer sex counseling
Education of families of PWA (persons with AIDS)
- HIV education for target populations
- Case management by social worker team
- Prevention case management and street outreach for injecting drug users
