The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s Center for Creative Living is an adult day health care program designed to help people over the age of 60 with functional disabilities to maintain maximum independence while taking part in community life. The Center is for those who do not require 24-hour care but are not capable of full-time independent living due to physical, mental or social impairments.

The Center for Creative Living is located at 1530 Nicholasville Road and can be reached at (859) 277-3855. It is open 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Fees are determined by scholarship, scale and Medicaid.

The Center for Creative Living offers skilled nursing, care planning, physical therapy, speech therapy, exercise, recreational activities, counseling, hot noon meals, health promotion, group therapy, field trips, social interaction and transportation to and from the facility.

Respite care services are also available for a person or family who gives care to an older adult and needs a break from the care for one day or a short-term period.
