Healthy Kids Clinic

School-based health centers, also called Healthy Kids Clinics, have been established in four elementary schools to provide basic primary health care to students. These include Harrison, Arlington, William Wells Brown and Tates Creek elementary schools. Services available in all centers include: physical exams, immunizations, some laboratory testing, basic health screening, diagnosis and treatment of most illnesses and limited provision of some prescription and non-prescription medication. Also included is health education of students and families and contractual services for mental and dental health.

Healthy Kids Clinics are a joint effort of the Health Department, U.K. College of Nursing, Comprehensive Care Center, U.K. College of Medicine , U.K. College of Dentistry, Central Baptist Hospital, Saint Joseph Hospital and University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Services are provided in collaboration with the UK Colleges of Dentistry, Medicine and Nursing; Comprehensive Care Centers, Inc. and Fayette County schools.
