Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program (KCHIP)
The Kentucky Children’s Health Insurance Program (KCHIP) helps families get health insurance for their children. Families whose children do not have health insurance (and in some cases, families who do have health insurance) who fall at or below the 200% poverty level may be eligible for KCHIP.

TheStatewide KCHIP Website (http://kidshealth.ky.gov/en/kchip/) includes on-line applications in English and Spanish and more information on the program and services.
The Lexington KCHIP Office provides Hotline Support to half the counties in the state. Coordination of information regarding the program is provided for 26 counties in Regions 5 and 6. In Fayette County, outreach services are performed at various Health Department functions, community events, school and Family Resources and Youth Services Centers events. Coordination and collaboration with the Department of Community Based Services assists children in accessing and maintaining full coverage health care. Social workers provide on-going long-term case management services to patients in Primary Care and Clinical Services. Assessment, counseling, referral and advocacy services are provided through office visits, home visits, and follow-up phone calls.
